Day for Russia…
in New York?

Manhattan gala dramatizes Russia’s business relations with America!

We were honored to be invited to the “Day for Russia” events in Manhattan, New York.

Interestingly, Russia and the United States have a 230 year history of generally friendly, mutually beneficial relations - notably interrupted by the Soviet era.

It has been less than 20 years since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Russia at first struggled with the transition to free markets, but in the years 2000 to 2008 the economy hit its stride and GNP rose steadily. That economic success was evident in New York as the successful Russian firm “Polet”, an international cargo airline with American offices in the Empire State building, sponsored the glittering international celebration.

Speakers at the event included Vitaly Churkin, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former New York Governor George Pataki. In attendance were Chief Russian trade Representative Andrey Dolgorukov and officials from Belarus and Kazakhstan.

It was pointed out by Dr. Kissinger that since it is apparently America’s intention to play a global role it is logical that the U.S. improve relations with the world’s largest country. One which stretches over 11 international time zones!
